Retirement Plans

Sworn Police and Fire Human Resources employed by the City of Mesa participate in the Public Safety Human Resources Retirement System (PSPRS).

Non-sworn (civilian) employees at the City of Mesa participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).

Retiree Benefits 

Retirees with at least 10 years of service with the City of Mesa (15 years if hired on or after 1/1/01; 20 years if hired on or after 1/1/06) who are receiving either an Arizona State Retirement System or Public Safety Retirement System pension are eligible to enroll in one of the health plans offered through the Mesa Choice Health Plan. The monthly premium paid by the retiree depends upon coverage chosen and the number of years of service with the City of Mesa.
