Planning - Civil Hearing Procedures
- If you wish to admit responsibility, you must pay
the total fines and fees listed with the
citation within ten (10) days from the date of citation or by the date specified
on the citation either in person or by mail to the Civil Hearing Office.
- If you do not wish to admit responsibility you must appear in person at the
Civil Hearing Office within ten (10) days from the date of citation or by the
date specified on the citation to enter a plea of not responsible and schedule a
hearing date.
- Failure to either pay the fine and fees or enter a plea within
the time period specified above will result in a default judgment against you. A civil sanction,
as described by the applicable penalty sections
of the Mesa City Code will be imposed.
- If you are
found responsible after a hearing, the Civil Hearing Officer shall impose a
sanction against you based on the applicable penalty sections of the Mesa City
Code.
- Any judgment imposing sanctions shall constitute a lien against your real
property until paid and a copy of the judgment will be filed with the Maricopa
County Arizona Recorder.
- Questions regarding payment of the civil
sanction or appearance before the Civil Hearing Officer may be answered by
calling 480-644-2385.
- The Planning - Civil Hearing Office is
located in Suite 130 of the Mesa City Plaza
Building, 20 East Main Street, in downtown Mesa.
It is across the street from the Mesa Arts
Center, on the northeast corner of Main Street
and Center Street.
