Damage Prevention and Safety Training

Your safety is of the utmost importance to the City of Mesa. Despite efforts to prevent situations from happening, excavators working in the City of Mesa service area damage our utilities on an "almost regular" basis. These damages expose contractor personnel, the public, and our utility employees to hazardous situations unnecessarily. In addition to the safety concern, repairs and damages can become very costly for everyone.

For your safety and the safety of others, we must work together to stop the damages to our underground facilities. The City of Mesa is taking a pro-active approach by offering a free Damage Prevention and Safety Program to all contractors and interested parties. This program consists of the following topics:

  • Arizona Blue Stake

  • Digging safety and concerns when working around: water, wastewater, electric, and natural gas.

  • City of Mesa utilities personnel and contractors partnering in their efforts to improve communication and safety for all.

Damage prevention workshops are also provided free of charge by the Arizona Blue Stake Center and the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC).
