Utilities staff takes gas
safety message on the road to local schools
The Utilities staff will once again take the
natural gas safety message on the road to local
schools. During the 2006-2007 school year,
Jennifer Codd of the Gas
Division and Matt Boyer of Utility Services visited
nearly
750 fifth-grade students at various schools within
the City of Mesa's natural gas service territory to
promote natural gas safety. Information covered
during the presentations include where gas
comes from, its properties and characteristics, who
to contact in an emergency, and what to do if you
smell gas. Last year's presentations received high marks from
students and teachers.
