The completion of this final segment between Power Road and University Drive in Mesa represents an important milestone in transportation improvements in the Valley including the completion of the Red Mountain Freeway, the conclusion of Proposition 300 projects and the successful partnership between taxpayers and ADOT spanning more than 20 years.

City Hall at the Mall

This year, the City of Mesa will sponsor two City Hall at the Mall events. Last year's City Hall at the Mall events drew in around 1,100 mall goers.  The City Hall at the Mall events are a unique way to bring City government directly to residents.

The Utilities Department along with several City of Mesa departments, including Parks, Recreation and Commercial Facilities; Library;  Neighborhood Services and Transportation will have displays and information set up in the center court area.  Mesa Police and Mesa Fire will have several displays in the mall parking lot.

This year's events are scheduled as follows:

April 12th - Fiesta Mall 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
October 25th - Superstition Springs 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

National Preparedness Day

Mesa's Police Department will again host a National Preparedness Day that will take place on Saturday, September 27th.  Last year's event took place at the Bass Pro Shop and drew in around 500 people.  This event is still being planned, so look for upcoming information.

Queen Creek's Annual Winterfest 2007 Event

Queen Creek's Annual Winterfest 2007 Event was rescheduled due to weather conditions.  Winterfest took place in February and was held in Johnson Ranch at Walker Butte Elementary School.  This family event was fun for all with games and entertainment, arts/crafts, and lots of good food.  The City of Mesa's Gas Division was on hand giving out natural gas safety information.

The 2008 event will take place in December.

Gas Division takes gas safety message on the road to local schools

The Gas Division is once again gearing up for another year of natural gas safety presentations to local schools.  Each year the Gas Division visits various schools within the City's natural gas service territory visiting about 750 fifth-grade students to promote natural gas safety. Information covered during the presentations include where gas comes from, its properties and characteristics, who to contact in an emergency, and what to do if you smell gas.

More information on school presentations.
