Suggested Minimum Hardware &
Software to Purchase Online Building Permits.
The software designers recommend the following as a
"minimum" for computer hardware & software:
- Pentium Based PC, 233mhz or faster
- Internet Explorer, version 5.5 or newer
- Netscape, version 7.0 or newer
Other configurations or computer systems may or may
not function properly and the City of Mesa cannot
provide technical support for private computers,
hardware, or software.
How do I get started?
You should have already submitted an application for
a building permit. During that process, you should have
received a "BLD200X-XXXXX" or "ROW200X-XXXXX" case
number. The case number is the key to using the online
Building Safety permits.
If you have a permit number that is all numeric,
please call (480) 644-4BSD for assistance.
If your case number begins with "COD", please contact
the Code Compliance Division at (480) 644-2061
Do I need to come into the
office to pick up my permit?
Yes, you still must come into one of the Building
Safety offices to obtain your physical permit. Paying
your the Fees & Charges online, has the potential to
save you time during your visit to the Municipal
Building by minimizing the number of lines you must wait
in. The Building Safety Division does
plan to offer in the future, printable permits.
Which credit cards are
accepted for payment of Building Permits?
Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
Can I pay part of my fees
now and part later?
Yes, you can make partial payments. However,
please realize that the Building Permit will not be
available until all fees & charges are paid in full.
How do I make a partial
payment?
The "Amount to Pay" fields can be modified to accept
a partial payment. What if I
type in the wrong amount?
Prior to selecting the "Charge my credit card"
button, please use the back button of the browser to
return to the "Pay Fees" screen, where the "Amount to
Pay" field can be edited. How
do I know when my credit card will be charged?
All accounts are "settled" at 9:00pm MST
(Mountain Standard Time) each night.
Payments made after 9:00pm will be dated the next date.
Note that the portion of Arizona where the City of Mesa
is located does not observe Daylight Savings Time.
I've overpaid the amount due
or have decided to cancel my permit. How do I get a
refund? All requests for refunds shall be
submitted in writing to the attention of Building Safety
Division - Permits Services at the following address:
Building Safety Division - Permit Services,
P.O. Box 1466
Mesa, AZ 85211-1466
Please include as much information regarding the
request for a refund. Please be aware that it can take
several weeks to receive a refund from the City of Mesa.
Can I print a receipt?
You can use the print function of your browser to
print a copy of the Verisign "Transaction Approved"
screen.
I've had trouble completing
the process, who can I contact for assistance?
At the bottom of each of the Building Safety web
pages is an e-mail address where you can contact
Building Safety staff for assistance. For your
convenience here is the address:
Building.Safety.Info@CityofMesa.org. Please be aware
that staff is not available to respond to e-mail
requests in real-time.
You may also contact Permit Services staff during
regular business hours for assistance.
