Range Improvements
District: 1
Location: Center and McKellips
Project Description: The present police range was
constructed in 1970 and has limited classroom space
and one target area for firearms training for Mesa
police officers and officers from other
agencies. The current trailer used for classrooms,
is over 25 years old. This project would
add a 3,000 square foot classroom to provide greater
seating capacity for adequate
training for the basic academy, in-service training,
and other hosted specialized training.
A small storage area to be constructed for targets
and equipment is also required. In
addition, target area B & D would have a shade
covering installed.
Project Cost: $1,028,210
First Full Year O&M: $82,365
Fiscal Years: 2008/09, 2009/10
