ASU Polytechnic Ring Road

District: 6
Category: Streets
Project Description:
This project will construct a new, four-lane central
ring road off
Power Road into the growing 14,000 student ASU
Polytechnic
and Chandler Gilbert Community College Campuses
located at
the former Williams Air Force Base. ASU Polytechnic
and
Chandler Gilbert Community College provide a highly
educated
workforce and have been identified as a key reason
aviation
companies such as Cessna, Embraer, Hawker-Beechcraft
and
CrownAir decided to locate in Mesa. The new road
will replace
the rapidly deteriorating system of old, substandard
U.S. Air Force
roads that do not support ASU's and CGCC's
renovations and
expansions plans. The road will result in improved
campus traffic
distribution, turn lanes, signage, drainage,
streetlighting,
landscaping, and bike lanes as the campuses continue
to increase
enrollment.
