Project Description: According to the City of Mesa's General Plan, the land immediately north of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is planned for industrial use. This use will generate economic activity and protect the airport from encroachment of residential development. Properties in this area and to the east require utilities be installed along the Ray Road alignment before the properties can be developed. This is a Regional Transportation Plan project to mitigate traffic delay and congestion in the area, and provide access to properties north of the airport. This project will construct the initial roadway with one lane in each direction, shoulders, and a raised median for the purposes of extending City infrastructure and access to support economic development. Water and wastewater infrastructure will be funded separately through water and wastewater bonds.
