Project Description:
With construction of Loop 202 Santan Freeway and
anticipated
development in the Mesa Gateway area, Hawes Road
between the
Santan Freeway and Ray Road is planned to be a key
access
route for the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport area and
is expected
to carry significant traffic volumes. This project
is a Regional
Transportation Plan project to mitigate traffic
delay and congestion
and provide access to this area. The project will
construct the
initial roadway with one lane in each direction,
shoulders, and a
raised median to support development in the area and
to improve
access to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.
