The Mesa Code Volunteer Team pilot program will begin in February 2008.  The teams currently represented are: the Golden Hills Homeowners Association, the Marlborough Mesa Neighborhood, the Pepper Place Neighborhood and the CARE Partnership.

Representatives from these neighborhoods will be trained by city Code Compliance staff on the recognition of basic neighborhood nuisance violations (overgrown weeds and grass, inoperable vehicles, parking on an unimproved surface, junk/litter/debris, outside storage and improper boat/utility trailer storage).  These representatives will mail a friendly reminder to the property owner regarding the problem observed at their property.  If the property owner does not take care of the issue, Code Compliance staff will be notified and a formal case will be opened.

The program will be monitored for one year, with an update presented to the City Council at the six-month mark.  Should the program prove to be successful, additional registered neighborhoods may be added.
