and, with the assistance of the office
of Economic Development, a $140,000 job
training grant. |
The Technology industry includes the semiconductor,
telecommunications, software development and related
industries. These industries develop, manufacture
and distribute products such as polished wafers,
software, igniters, air bags, chemicals, security
and communication systems. This cluster has a
sizeable amount of firms involved in either
manufacturing or services. There are over 100
technology firms based in Mesa’s economy.Mesa has a well-established base of firms in the technology
industry, including AT&T/SBC, Special Devices, FujiFilm,
TRW Vehicle Safety Systems, ATMI, Pierson Digital
Learning, Semflex, Justice Trax, Trans-Matic, GECO,
Intelasight.
The City of Mesa
Office of Economic Development in partnership with
the Arizona Department of Commerce offers a wide
variety of business development programs and
services to support Mesa’s new and emerging
technology companies. Mesa views technology as an
important driver in the diversification of Mesa’s
economy and one that provides quality, high paying
jobs. Mesa’s mission is to attract, retain and grow
the technology industry and to help develop the
workforce to support those industries.
