Facility Information 
The City of Mesa Fire Department Training and Special Operations Section is located at the Mesa Public Safety Training Facility which is a shared facility between the police and fire departments. The staff consists of a Training Deputy Chief, Special Operations Deputy Chief, two Training Captains,  two Special Operations Coordinators,
a civilian Training Coordinator, a Fire Engineer,
a Firefighter, and two Administrative Support Assistants.

Plans call for additions to the Training Facility
each year through the year 2006. The additions are:

• Dedicated physical fitness building
• Simulated tactical village consisting of
  a strip mall, garage, residence and mini market
• Prop stations consisting of:
       Water rescue tank
       Flammable liquid pit
       Railroad car
       Auto extrication
       School bus
       Prop control tower

In March 2002 a new 340 seat auditorium with
four additional classrooms was completed. 

Current facilities available for fire training:

• 340 seat auditorium/break out rooms
• Seven story fire resistive tower with rappelling platforms
• Two story burn structure
• Basement / Confined Space Structure
• One story maze structure
• Propane prop group consisting of a vehicle, a tank and a gas tree
• Single story residence for search and
  rescue training
• Classrooms
• Office complex
• Aircraft, school bus, utility, trench rescue trainers
• Full size driving training track with wet
  skid pad (13) acres
• Health and Fitness area
• Apparatus Storage (4 bays )
• Fire sprinkler & water systems, ventilation and auto extrication props.
