Health Fitness Instructors

Mesa Fire Department's Wellness Team consists of the Fire Service Wellness Program Coordinator (WPC) and 25+ Health Fitness Instructors (HFI's). HFI's are specially trained firefighters. This group, under the direction of the WPC, provide the following services to Department members:

Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT)
CPAT Orientation Guide
CPAT Test Guide
Conduct firefighter recruit physical fitness training sessions
Perform annual fitness evaluations
Perform annual Wildland Firefighter Pack Tests
Create personal fitness training programs
Perform respirator mask fit testing
Teach health, fitness, nutrition & safety classes
Read Tuberculosis tests
Represent the Department at recruitment events
