Neighborhood P.R.I.D.E Grant
Due to its overwhelming popularity, the Neighborhood
P.R.I.D.E. Grant program is suspended until further notice. July
1, 2007 to October 16, 2007 Mesa neighborhoods received over
$13,000 for landscape projects, G.A.I.N. events, barricades, two
alley gates, block wall repairs, neighborhood identification
signage, and a new neighborhood park.
The mission of the Neighborhood P.R.I.D.E program is to
encourage and support residents in their efforts to build safer,
healthier, and more self-sufficient neighborhoods.
As a neighborhood resident, you understand your
community better than anyone else- it's people, resources, strengths, and
it's most pressing challenges. Most of all, you know what it takes
to make it a better place to live. The Mesa United
Way P.R.I.D.E. (People
& Resources to Improve, Develop, & Energize) program encourages
Mesa residents to identify and build upon the strengths of individuals,
associations, and organizations to create positive benefits for themselves
and their neighbors.
The P.R.I.D.E grant program is sponsored and funded
by Mesa United Way and co-funded by the City of Mesa's Neighborhood
Outreach Office.
The mission of the Neighborhood P.R.I.D.E program is to encourage and
support residents in their efforts to build safer, healthier, and more
self-sufficient neighborhoods. The goal is to fund project ideas
evolved from a shared community concern. The people affected by the
issue or challenge will plan, design, and implement their own collective
solutions.

for such funds. Applicants are encouraged to partner with local
schools, businesses, churches, agencies or other groups in their projects.
