May I have alcohol at the public park?
Possessing or consuming spirituous liquor, beer or wine is not allowed in Mesa except: Beer  & Wine permits are available for Dobson Ranch, Fitch,  Red Mountain, Pioneer, Riverview and Falcon Field parks. Obtain an alcohol permit at least one business day in advance of use.  Permits for Friday-Sunday must be obtained in person at our office by the preceding Thursday.  The permit fee is $20.
 

It looks like they are developing a park in my area.  How do I find out the status of the park and what it will contain?
We have a section on our web page called Future Parks and Facilities. On this page you can learn how we plan to develop parks, how long it takes to develop a park, the types of parks/facilities we develop and what's going on at the project near you.
 

Where does Mesa Parks and Recreation Department hold their programs?
The Parks and Recreation Department operate over 56 parks, 12 pools, 2 golf courses, and 7 sports complexes/recreation centers.   A map of these facilities can be found on the city's website along with a listing of the amenities at each facility.

Additionally, Mesa Parks and Recreation Department partners with Mesa Public Schools to offer after school and summer programming at Mesa Public Schools.  

East Side programs are located at facilities east of Gilbert Road and West Side programs are located at facilities west of Gilbert Road.


Can I fish in the lake at the park near my house?
Mesa Parks and Recreation has two urban fishing lakes one at Riverview Park and the other at Red Mountain Park.  Both of these are stocked lakes.  For more information please follow this link: urban fishing program.
