Pacific Proving Grounds, Major General Plan
Amendment - GPMajor08-02
The Pacific Proving property, which constitutes
the southern 1,700 acres of the GM Desert Proving
Grounds, shares a two (2) mile border with the
Airport and plays an important role in the future
growth of this area. Pacific Proving Grounds is
requesting to amend the General Plan land use
designation from Community Commercial, Regional
Commercial, Mixed/Use Employment, Medium Density
Residential, Light Industrial and Business Park to
Mixed Use/Community (MUC). This application requests to update the
land use plan for the Pacific Proving property,
define a vision for the property which includes an
employment core, integrate and accommodate
developmental influences such as the Airport and the
future Williams Gateway Freeway. The links below
