Anthrax Contamination Scam
There are now scam artists preying on the fears about anthrax contamination and other terrorist ploys. The Better
Business Bureau warns of the following types of questionable offers:
- An anthrax exterminator that promises to sterilize surfaces within
8 seconds -- at a cost of $100.
- A steam sterilizer that can sterilize and dry up to 100 envelopes
in 40 minutes -- at a cost of $2,800.
- A special soap or disinfectant to protect against all virus-based
diseases; or
- A home testing kit to detect anthrax.
Also, beware of advertisements for "cure-alls" for anthrax
or any other biochemical substance, such as anthrax vaccines or herbal
remedies.

business with the BBB and resist the urge to act immediately without
doing your homework.
