Arizona Powerball Scam

Some senior residents have received calls from con artists this first week in January. One caller stated that the senior had won $5000 in the Arizona Powerball and they needed to call to claim their prize. The senior knew it was a scam because: 1. There is no Arizona Powerball; and 2. how would the caller know that they had won a prize; only the ticket holder knows that information. When one senior called the number back, the con artist wanted their credit card and bank account numbers before they could claim their prize.

Please do not give out this information or any other personal information over the telephone if you don't know who is on the line.
