Aggravated Robbery Suspects Captured After
Threatening A Store Employee
On December 26, 2007 at 1:20 p.m. co-defendants
Brent Dansby and Dale Robinson were arrested for the
aggravated robbery of a south Mesa Wal-Mart store.
20-year-old Dale Eugene Robinson Jr. and 21-year-old
Brent Allen Dansby, both of Phoenix, are accused of
taking two televisions and threatening physical harm
to a store loss prevention employee.
On December 26, 2007 at 12:44 p.m., the two
suspects were seen at the Wal-Mart store located at
1710 S. Greenfield in Mesa. A Wal-Mart loss
prevention employee witnessed the suspects exiting
the store with two televisions in their shopping
cart after making no attempt to pay for the
merchandise. The loss prevention employee approached
the suspects and asked to see a purchase receipt for
the televisions. The suspect ignored the request and
continued to exit the store. A second request for
the receipt was made and the suspects threatened to
punch the loss prevention employee. After a third
request for the receipt, Dale Robinson asked Brent
Dansby to go to their car and get a gun. The
suspects then ran to their vehicle, loaded the
televisions inside, and fled the scene.
Wal-Mart loss prevention immediately contacted
the Mesa Police Department and was able to give a
detailed description of the suspects and the vehicle
they were driving. An alert uniformed police officer
knew that the store was located next to the
Superstition Freeway and started searching for the
suspects. The officer located the suspects traveling
westbound on the Superstition and requested
additional units.
Patrol units followed the suspects to a Tempe
neighborhood where the suspects exited their vehicle
and entered a residence. The suspects eventually
exited the residence and were taken into custody.
Robinson and Dansby were positively identified as
the suspects in this case. A search warrant of the
residence and vehicle was executed and both
televisions were recovered and positively identified
as Wal-Mart merchandise. The suspects denied taking
the televisions without paying and threatening the
loss prevention employee.
Both suspects were booked on suspicion of
aggravated robbery, a class three felony. As of this
writing their bond and release status is unknown.
