Investigators seek public assistance to identify bank robber

The Mesa Police Department is asking for public assistance to identify a male suspect who is responsible for a bank robbery that occurred at the M&I Bank, 9953 E. Baseline Road in Mesa, on April 3, 2008 at 10:05 a.m.

On the above mentioned date and time, the suspect entered the M&I Bank and presented a note to the bank teller demanding money. The suspect then simulated a weapon. The bank teller complied with the suspect's demand and, after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled the scene. Witnesses noticed a white mini-van with tinted windows leaving the parking lot; however, it is unclear if the suspect was in the vehicle.

The suspect in this case is described as a black male, approximately 39-40 years old, 6' tall, 275 pounds with a large mole on his right cheek. The possible suspect vehicle is a white compact mini-van.

Anyone with information related to this case is urged to contact the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211 or Silent Witness at 480-948-6377.
