Mesa Police Department - Media Release

Volunteer recognition banquet to be held tonight

The Mesa Police Department is proud to recognize the many volunteers that contribute to the success of the organization. Without the help of volunteers, many important tasks would go undone. The Volunteers In Police Service program (VIPS) is a vital part of the Mesa Police Department. Tonight is our chance to recognize those who volunteer their time and efforts to improve the quality of life in our community.

The recognition banquet will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the Windemere Hotel and Conference Center, located at 5750 E. Main Street in Mesa. This year's banquet theme is sports and teamwork. The attendees have been encouraged to wear their favorite team sports gear. Several members of the Arizona Rattlers arena football team will be present to help recognize our volunteers.

The Mesa Police Department would like to thank the Windemere Hotel and Conference Center for hosting the event, and the Arizona Rattlers for graciously attending. Citizens interested in volunteering at the Mesa Police Department are encouraged to contact VIPS coordinator, Linda Bailey, at 480-644-2073 or visit www.cityofmesa.org/police/vips/default.aspx.
