Mesa Police Department Narcotics Unit

The Special Investigations Division is comprised of several different units that are
responsible for the investigation of narcotics trafficking, organized crime, gang related
activity, and vice within the City of Mesa. They are:
- Narcotics: The Narcotics Unit's
mission is to investigate and deter middle to upper level narcotics dealers' operations
within the City of Mesa.
- Neighborhood Drug Interdiction Team (NDIT): NDIT investigates street level narcotics by
responding to citizens' complaints reference suspected drug activity.
- Asset Forfeiture: The Asset Forfeiture Unit investigates aspects of, and financial
gains from narcotics related cases.
- Special Crimes Apprehension Team (SCAT): SCAT is responsible for the majority of
surveillance activities for the entire police department, as well as vice and liquor
violations.
- Intelligence: The Intelligence Unit is responsible for the collection,
maintenance, and dissemination of criminal intelligence information.
