Public Transit - Bus Rapid Transit

With the completion of the new Metro light-rail in 2008 will come a new Bus Rapid Transit system planned to boost ridership of light-rail, take cars off the road and reduce air pollution.

An express bus with limited stops will extend service to east Mesa.  The connecting bus route is tentative, but the bus is expected to stop at Superstition Springs Mall, at Power Road and Southern Avenue, Banner Baywood Medical Center, at Power Road and Broadway Road, and other locations shown below.

A continuous supergrid line is also proposed from east Mesa to the rail station at Sycamore and Main Street and would represent the city's first service in several years on Sundays.

Mesa also could get a second continuous supergrid service route along Dobson Road, essentially allowing Mesa Community College students, visitors to Banner Desert Medical Center and Mesa Riverview Mall commuters to make easy connections to the rail line.
