Do I need a permit?                           Industrial Pretreatment Contacts

POLLUTION PREVENTION (P2)

Industrial Pretreatment (IPS) has numerous resources available to any business seeking to prevent the discharge of pollutants to the environment.  In some instances, the implementation of pollution prevention strategies can keep a business from receiving a permit.  If you are interested in pollution prevention opportunities, contact IPS at (480) 644-2484 or by e-mail.

EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES

If you would like a representative of IPS to speak with your school or group about the pretreatment program, contact IPS at (480) 644-2484 or by e-mail.

INDUSTRIAL MONITORING PROGRAM

IPS performs compliance monitoring at all permitted facilities.  To receive a copy of procedures used to ensure quality assurance and quality control, contact IPS at (480) 644-2484 or by e-mail.

ANNUAL PRETREATMENT REPORT

As a requirement of the NPDES Permit issued by the EPA, Mesa must submit an annual report describing pretreatment activities for the calendar year.  This report includes analytical results for the NWWRP, activities conducted by IPS, and the compliance status of each permitted facility.  A copy of the report is available at the City of Mesa's Main Library.  For more information on this report, contact David Gonzales at (480) 644-2484 or by e-mail.

ENFORCEMENT RESPONSE PLAN (ERP)

This is the document used by IPS to determine what enforcement actions to take when a permitted facility has a violation.  This plan is approved by the Environmental Protection Agency, Region 9.  For more information on this report, contact David Gonzales at (480) 644-2484 or by e-mail.
