Volunteer
Consider sharing your most
precious gift with your neighbors — your time. The City of Mesa offers many
opportunities for citizens to help make our community an even better place to
live. Volunteers are needed in our art center, libraries, museums,
neighborhoods, parks, police, fire department, courts and many other areas.
Whatever you can spare — an hour a week or a few hours a day — we need your
help.

In 2007, volunteers provided 269,551
hours of service with a cost savings of $5,093,370 to the City.
Types of Volunteers
- Individual
- Unpaid Intern/Service Learning - May receive credit from their school.
- Youth ages 12-17 - A signed parent authorization form is required to
participate in a City sponsored Youth Volunteer program. The Police
Department does not utilize any volunteer under age 18 and Victim Assistance
has a minimum age of 21.
- Groups - Including but not limited to Girl Scouts, Eagle Scouts, churches,
or civic organizations. Individual volunteer applications are not necessary
if the group leader or organizational representative signs an authorization
form.
- Event - One time or episodic event participation will be based on the
needs and criteria of the department requesting their services.
