Mesa Fire Department Cadet Program
The Mesa Fire Department Fire Cadet Educational Program occurs September through June and is a youth educational program of the Mesa Fire Department designed for males and females aged 14 through 20.

The Cadet program provides the means and opportunity for participants to learn skills applicable to the fire fighting profession. 

The Cadet learns about the Fire Service and, in turn, volunteers time to the City of Mesa.

Program Goals

  • Develop team building and leadership skills
  • Understand the firefighter-recruit testing process
  • Learn basic firefighting skills, CPR and first aid techniques
  • Participate in physical fitness
  • Become familiar with fire equipment and apparatus

Open Recruitment

Updated information on the 2008/2009 season will be coming soon.

Orientation for the current enrollment period will occur September 6th, 2008.  Time to be announced.

Both applications must be filled out and submitted.

The Application process will close October 4th, 2008 at 12:00 noon.

Meeting Dates, Times & Location

The Cadet group meets on the first Saturday of each month from 8:00am to 1:00pm.

Event Schedule

 
Most meetings are held at the Fire Public Safety Training Facility located at 3260 North 40th Street, Mesa.

The meetings will include class room training as well as physical fitness training,  practicing firefighting techniques and performing emergency medical skills. Participation will require physical activity.

Other Activities

The Cadet Post also participates in community service events including fund raising and public education activities. Participation in these extra activities is not required, however, members are expected to participate when available.  Volunteer Opportunities.
