Telephone Book Recycling

Looking for a way to recycle your old phone books?  The City of Mesa Solid Waste Management Department has a simple solution for you...simply toss them into your blue barrel along with all your other recyclables.  That's all there is to it!

Businesses with blue barrels may also place their old phone books into their recycling containers.  All other businesses and large users of telephone books should contact the Arizona Center for the Blind at (602) 267-8740 or Friedman Recycling at (602) 269-9324 for recycling options.

Interested in not receiving hard copies of the phone book or would prefer a CD version?

Call 1-877-2GETDEX (1-877-243-8339).

Did you know that since 1991, the following Valley wide results have been achieved?

  • 12,772,216 phone books have been recycled by QwestDex.  This would equal enough old phone books to stretch 2,218 miles when laid end to end...about the same distance between Mesa and Orlando, FL.
  • Over 1.5 million trees, 184 million gallons of water, and more than 108 kilowatt hours of energy have been saved by people like you recycling their phone books through the QwestDex and City of Mesa recycling efforts.

The above information has been provided by QwestDex, Recycling Department.
